Cascades, Look-Out Rock, Tiger Falls Circular Route
The Tiger Falls Loop is one of the most varied and rewarding short hikes in the northern section of the uKhahlamba-Drakensberg Park, based in the Mahai Camp area at the Royal Natal section. The circular route combines waterfalls, indigenous forest, mountain viewpoints, rivers and grassland into a single 6.5 km hike.

Main Attractions
Cascades
The hike begins by following the Mahai River upstream to the Cascades, a series of beautiful pools and small waterfalls. This is a popular picnic and swimming area and provides an excellent introduction to the route.
Look-Out Rock
Beyond the Cascades, the trail climbs steadily up the ridge. The ascent becomes steeper, with several zig-zag sections, before reaching the junction for Look-Out Rock. This viewpoint offers spectacular views over the Royal Natal National Park and the surrounding Drakensberg mountains.
Tiger Falls
Tiger Falls is the highlight for many visitors. The waterfall plunges approximately 50 metres over a cliff, forming a beautiful pool below. The route follows a contour path through the forest before descending to the falls. The area is noted for its scenic beauty and tranquillity.
