After leaving Mkhulumane Rock, the trail leads to Hlathikulu Forest, one of the hike’s highlights. The forest’s name appears in multiple spellings, including Hlathikhulu, Hlathikulu, Hlatikhulu, and Hlatikulu. The trail offers two return options to Monks Cowl Camp. One route leads back through the forest, descending gently toward the river and the camp.
